What to Expect in the Second Half

By the end of the month, the major players should be starting to return from their breaks and top quality racing will starting to ramp up. Here's what to look forward to in the second half for the three and older crew.

3yo Females: Untapable should continue to dominate this division (even if she takes on the boys). Although Lexie Lou did beat the boys, she has never faced a dirt surface. Honestly there really isn't much else to look forward to in this division at the moment, but according to the DRF Ria Antiona's mismanagement will continue with the Ohio Derby.

3yo Males: Things might get interesting if Shared Belief wins the Pacific Classic. The showdown between him and California Chrome in the fall will be fun! Tonalist will face stiff challenges on the east coast, especially from Medal Count (although many believe he should be on turf) and Wicked Strong (hopefully).

Older Males: This division like the 3yo females has a standout Palace Malice. Majestic Harbor could be a serious challenger after winning the Gold Cup at Santa Anita. Game On Dude looks like father time has caught up to him, Clubhouse Ride may have finally made a turn to be a solid handicap horse.  Moonshine Mullin and Will Take Charge also serious contenders.

Older Female: Close Hatches leads this very tough division. However Princess of Sylmar could take the title of Queen should she win this Saturday at Delaware. Beholder is going to be on the sidelines for the Summer which means Iotapa will likely rule the West. Molly Morgan also has a serious chance.
