Horse racing puts out many articles, photos etc. in one day. That's why news aggregators work well in getting everything into one website for people to find a link quickly (to read on what a news aggregator is, click here).
In horse racing, there are four main news agrregators for horse racing. These are my own personal rankings for them, you may or may not disagree on them.
Editors Note: Thorough Chat was featured on 3 of the 4 of these agrregators several times, the fourth I'm not 100% sure about.
4. Raceday 360- This is a more of blog aggregator then anything. However they do also get photos and YouTube vids from feeds that they have set up. They also have Twitter account and have an Editors Picks section.
3. Equidaily- The first news aggregator in horse racing. The website is set up nicely with the main stories on top and has the other news set up by region. Even has a weather area linking to Yahoo's weather section. The downside is that while they do have a twitter account, it is not following anyone or being followed, plus hasn't tweeted. Even if they have tweeted, they are protected (meaning you can't see them unless you are following them.
2. Paulick Report- Founded by former Bloodhorse editor Ray Paulick, this website is a nice mixture of articles and blog posts from around the horse racing world and original content. The website has a Best of the Blogs area where each day the best blog posts from the past 24 hours are chosen to have their links featured in that area. Paulick has his own Twitter account, and there are also YouTube videos are produced. Last year they had a Beat the Handicapper contest, where even Ray's dog Spud was part of.
1. Goatzapper- Sometimes newest is the best, and in this case for right now it is. Goatzapper (which is a play on 2005 BCC winner Ghostzapper) is simlar to what Paulick Report's site looked like when they began a few years ago. The main headlining is right on the top of the page, with pervious posted articles below. Set up simlarly to what Equidaily looks like, the site has wide arrange of article links. The site is updated several times a day and there is a Twitter account as well. The person who runs the account tweets like they are an actual goat.
