Who knew this could even happen. Shez a Hearbreaker, an 5 year old mare by Arch ended up in a car auction on Long Island. Her most recent race was in early January at Aqueduct, she sold for $16,000. Right now because of a bad ankle, she's getting some R&R with a possible return to the track. Here is her Equibase profile, and honestly she has done only okay in claiming races. It will be interesting what happens. However, I have a question. Why was she at an car auction? Places like New Holland and Sugar Creek are aweful and thankfully she didn't up there, but they would be more suited to handle a horse then a car auction.
It's just a wierd case. I wish her and her new owner the best of luck. If she doesn't return to the track, I'm sure she'll be pasture puff.
