Keeneland September Yearling Sale: Book 2, Day 3 Recap
Posted by
Rachel
Here are the results of my picks from the final day of Book 2.
At this stage of the sale prices are going to be going down. With that being said, having a seven figure horse on the final day of Book 2 is pretty impressive. Tomorrow is the lone off day in the sale before Book 3 begins on Saturday. Book 3 will be the final preview and recap that I will be doing for this year's sale. That will be up tomorrow in one big post for both days.

Keeneland September Yearling Sale: Book 2, Day Two Recap
Posted by
Rachel
These are the results of my picks from todays Book 2, Day 2 of Keeneland's September Yearling Sale session.
Overall an okay day, ending with 3 RNA’s isn’t good on my part, but still getting the session topper is pretty awesome. A little disapointed that the Baghdaria filly is heading to Japan, but really not suprised because Baghdaria’s ½ sister Lady Joanne is over there. I wouldn’t be too upset for Dream Rush’s colt, because Stonestreet usually turns their RNA’s into stakes winners. My gut feeling is that the session topper is heading overseas, however Coolmore tends to keep their US buys in the states then Darley does I think. The final session of Book 2 will be up later tonight, as soon as I finish it.

So a couple more RNA's then I expected, but I'm more disappointed in myself then anything else. When I was compiling the list for I decided to deleted one of my picks, a half to Pomeroy who inturn is also a half to the dam of Contested. That horse brought a selling price of $500,000. Ah well, that's just how the ball bounces sometimes. Book 2, Day 3 post will actually be tomorrow night. I'll be having more time to wrap it up. Then we will move foward with Book 3!

Keeneland September Yearling Sale: Book 1 Recap
Posted by
Rachel
After some downtime due to a hacking at my domain host, the blog is back up! Just in time for the recap for Book 1 too. Here are my picks and how well they did.
While 6 of my picks RNA'ed (the Our Dani filly was the most disapointing (she must have looked awful in person) the Lady Lochinvar colt was a very close second). I was happy that I got the Sea the Stars colt and the Broken Vow colt as high priced sellers. I hope that you enjoy this new chart format, this will be a bit easier to find everything alot quicker. Book 2, Day 2 post will be up in a little while.

FT Saratoga Selected Yearlings Recap (Day 1)
Posted by
Rachel
This is a recap of my Day 1 picks for the 2012 Fasig Tipton Saratoga Selected Yearling Sale, the horses will be in Hip Number Order. Like with the July Sale, I've color coded all of the bolded text. If the text is green that means the horse met his or her reserve and was sold. If the text is red, then that means the reserve was not met. I will also post the price where bidding had stopped at. If both the bolded text and the none bolded text is blue then that means that the horse was taken out of the sale to be either kept, sold at a future sale or was privately sold. There might be RNA's might have been privately sold, if that's happened then the text is Orange.
Hip 2 sold to Starlight Stable for $175,000 (English Channel x Heavenly Ransom colt)
Hip 4 OUT
Hip 8 was an RNA, but then was privataly sold to Becky Thomas for $200,000 (Malibu Moon x Jill Robin L colt)
Hip 11 RNA'ed at $475,000 (Medaglia d' Oro x Kim's Blues colt) (on a personal note, I am a bit disapointed since I thought he would sell since he's a half to Rachel's dam, but MDO's best foals are fillies.)
Hip 13 sold to Shadwell Stable for $450,000 (Tapit x Kokadrie colt)
