Hey everyone! Welcome to the Thorough Chat Live Blog on Big Cap Day! After each stake race I will have a post with my thoughts on how the race went. Plus my possible rankings for the Older Males and Grass Milers. Hope you continue to read throughout the day for more info!
4:15 pm- 26 minutes till the Santa Anita Oaks.
4:23 pm- 17 minutes to go. My head says that Zazu should win her second G1 in a row, but I'm a HUGE Rockport Harbor fan and would love to see his daughter May Day Rose finally show her talent. But if she gets in another speed duel she'll be screwed.
4:43 pm- Obviously Turbulent Descent needed a race. Good win, but not a great win holding off Zazu. May isn't a G1 horse going two turns, one turn yes, but two turns sadly no. This does cloud my Oaks list however.
4:55 pm- Looks like no KY Oaks for Turbulent Descent.
5:21 pm- Unzip Me wins the Clocker's Corner. Could give Chamberlain Bridge some fits.
7:28 pm- Kilroe Mile time!
7:44 pm- PHOTO! Between Caracortato and last year's runner up Fluke.
7:46 pm- Fluke gets the win for Humberto Ascanio, the former asst. to Bobby Frankel.
8:05 pm- Almost post time for the Big Cap
8:17 pm- Photo between Game On Dude and Setsuko
8:21 pm- Game On Dude wins, but hold all tickets.
8:31 pm- No change! Bob Baffert gets his second Big Cap in a row (Misremebered last year). Chantal Sutherland was in the irons.
So that's it! Unfortanlly there was a euthanization in Lieve in the Kilroe, my condonces to his connections. Once again congrats to Bob, Chantal, G Dude and his owners. I'll be back tomorrow with a recap post.

Will be updated throughout the day right after each BC race.
Marathon: Eldaafer wins, with Prince Will I Am second. However, Prince Will I Am was DQ'ed to 10th. Gabrial's Hill was moved up to second and A.U. Miner who crossed the line fourth was moved up to third.
However, Calvin Borel (who was on A.U. Miner) and Javier Castallano (who was on Prince Will I Am) got into a fight in the winners circle. Very shocking for the calm natured Borel and Castallano.
Juvenile Fillies Turf: More Than Real shocks Winter Memories. There was an objection that was denied. It's the first BC win for her owner the Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay (although I'm a HUGE fan of his wife Stephane March who played ADA Alex Cabot on Law and Order: SVU).
Filly/Mare Sprint: Dubai Majesty wins, Switch ran very well in second and Evening Jewel was third.
Juvenile Fillies: Calvin Borel is escorted to paddock by security for his ride on Tell A Kelly. The Undefeated Awesome Feather was able to get the win for the little guys. R Heat Lightning was second.
Filly/Mare Turf: USA! USA! Graham Motion finally wins the F/M Turf. After finishing 2nd, 3rd and 2nd with Film Maker. Shared Account's owner is also the owner of Under Armor. The second longest shot to win a BC race. Her sire Pleasently Perfect joins Unbridled, Unbridled's Song and Awesome Again among others to win a BC race then sire a winner. Defending Champion Midday was second.
Ladies Classic: Unriveled Belle wins with Blind Luck in second and Havre de Grace in third. Unfortanlly Life at Ten should have been scratched, but wasn't.
It's been a very interesting day to say the least. There was fight, a DQ, a chef winning, the owner of a sports undergarment company winning in a huge upset, an the editor of the premier insperational books also winning. There won't be a Live Blog tomorrow as I have to go to work just before the Juvenile :(. However I will have my picks going up at 11 am and then a recap of the Weekend on Sunday.
