3. Maplejinsky- Angel Cordero

7. Go For Wand- Randy Romero
8. Proud Spell- Gabriel Saez
9. Woodbine- C. Gradwell
10. Blind Luck- Joel Rosario

They're in the gate! And they are off in the Alabama Ledgend. Silverbulletday goes right for that lead with Woodbine and Go For Wand right behind her, Maplejinsky is next, with Our Mims, Proud Spell, Lady Joanne and Gamely are together. Pine Island is next and the early trailer is Blind Luck. As they come out of the first turn it's Silverbulletday leading the way. Go For Wand is trying to tug her way to the front, but is being restrained a little bit. Woodbine is next, with Maplejinksky biding her time. Proud Spell is fifth with Our Mims in sixth. Lady Joanne and Gamely are neck and neck, Pine Island is starting to make her move and Blind Luck just biding her time in her favorite position, last. Silverbulletday continues to lead as the temp starts to quicken. Go For Wand is now making her move as is Maplejinsky, Woodbine is dropping back, Proud Spell and Our Mims move up. Gamely has put away Lady Joanne, but isn't making up ground, and here comes Pine Island and Blind Luck as the closers are starting to make their moves. Silverbulletday took them as far as she good, but Go For Wand is about to pass her as the field makes their way into that final turn. It's Go For Wand! Maplejinsky has made her way into second, it's Proud Spell next. Blind Luck with a big move on the far outside as she is closing like she is some kind of train. It's still Go For Wand! Blind Luck is coming, here's the wire! Go For Wand by a head! Blind Luck was an on charging second and Maplejinsky was able to hold off Pine Island. What a race.

Legends Race: Alabama (Introducing the Field)

Welcome to another edition of the Legends Race! This time around we have 10 fillies going a mile and a quarter in the Alabama!

In Post One: 1999 winner, multiple Eclipse winning champion and Hall of Famer Silverbulletday, she's ridden today by Jerry Bailey.

In Post Two: 2006 winner and one of my personal favorites Pine Island who is ridden by Javier Castallano.

In Post Three: Her daughter won this race as well in 1993, and she won this in 1988, it's Maplejinsky!
She's ridden by Angel Cordero.

In Post Four: Her little brother won the Travers and was the arch rival of Affirmed it's 1977 winner Our Mims, ridden by Jorge Velasquez.

In Post Five: Little brother just won the Preakness this year and ran a fantastic race in the Haskell, it's 2007 winner Lady Joanne with Calvin "Bo-Rail" Borel in the irons.

In Post Six: She had a Roman nose, multiple champion and is a Hall of Famer, 1967 winner Gamely with Bill Shoemaker.

In Post Seven: She hails from the great Christiana Stable, multiple Eclipse Champion and Hall of Famer. It's 1989 winner Go For Wand and Randy Romero.

In Post Eight: One of two horses that I've actually had the honor to see in person in this race. She reeled her Delaware Oaks win into this race to hold off Music Note, on her way to Championship honors it's 2008 winner Proud Spell and Gabrial Saez.

In Post Nine: She won the very first Alabama back in 1872. Her owner would be have a track named after him and she shares a name with a Canadian track. It's Woodbine ridden by C. Gradwell.

Last, but not least.

In Post Ten: She is well on her way to a Hall of Fame career, and the other horse that I've had the honor of seeing in person. Part of possibly the greatest female rivalry with Havre de Grace, it's 2010 winner Blind Luck and her jockey, Joel Rosario.

That's the field for the Alabama Legends race! The call of the race will be tomorrow.

So whose your pick? Post below!
