First off I want to thank everyone for particpating in Monday's Live Chat. I want to especially thank Ed DeRosa of Thoroughbred Times and Brian Zipse of Zipse at the Track for particpating in the chat. Don't forget that the next chat will be next Monday at 7, and then the following chat will be Saturday April 3rd at 8pm (the only non Monday chat due to personal obligations).
The weekend preview post will actually be a 2 day post. Tomorrow's post will be talking about the Dubai races which feature Gio Ponti, Richard's Kid, Gayego, Furthest Land among others, as well as the Fair Grounds Oaks which will be Friday instead of Saturday this year. Friday will be preview of the LA Derby, Lane's End and the Sunland Derby. Of course this will all be wrapped up on Sunday with the Live Chat on Monday.
The LA Derby and Lane's End will be on USA this weekend, the first time that a prep other then the SA Derby and Wood will be on a NBC station for as long as I can remember (ESPN used to broadcast the Lane's End). I think they are doing most of the preps up to the Lexington (not sure if they are doing the Lexington or not). The other big announcement is that Sunday at 9pm EDT, HRTV's Inside Information will be broadcasting, Rachel's Story. This is a special on Rachel Alexandra, Hal Wiggins and a girl from IL who was granted her Make A Wish (which was to go to the Derby) and where she met the future Horse of the Year. Ironicly, the girl's name is also Rachel (you can read about Rachel in this Bloodhorse article).
