After dismal ratings, and 3 deaths (the latest non-racing related), HBO has pulled the plug on Luck. A good idea at first, but honestly to me I was never on board with this. The trailer I had seen looked horrible to me. I feel bad for the actors especially Dustin Hoffman, Gary Stevens and Jill Hennesey (my guess is back to movies for Dustin, maybe another pilot for Jill and Gary has his analising duties for HRTV and NBC). But compared to others, they will be fine.
So what happens next? My guess is we'll never see another racing show on tv again. Which is a shame, but it it can't be done safely, then it shouldn't be done. This is a victory for PETA. I'm sure they will be proud of themselves.
