I didn't have plans tonight to write something up, however a member of the Triple Crown Class of 2003 is being exported. As some of you know if you have read this blog before, my all time favorite horse is Funny Cide. Well Peace Rules who beat Funny in the LA Derby, Haskell and Suburban Handicap was sold and will be moving from Florida to Korea. Bred in Florida and owned by Edmund Gann, the Jules colt won three G1's (Blue Grass, Haskell, and Suburban) while being trained by Bobby Frankel. He stood at Vinery in Florida as one of their first FL based stallions.
Here is his 2003 Louisana Derby win where he upset Kafwain with Funny in third. However Funny would get second place purse after Kafwain tested positive which caused his DQ. Funny and Peace would meet three more times, with Funny turning the tables on him in the Kentucky Derby and Peace Rules winning in the Haskell and Suburban (Funny was 3rd and 2nd in those races respectivly).
I hope he does well in Korea, but with any horse that gets exported I get nervous, and it's a shame that it happend him as outside of Funny he's my favorite from the 03 class.
