On paper, this is We Miss Artie's race to lose. He won his prep for this race after running in the Derby. Lexie Lou won the Woodbine Oaks, and if she where to win would be her trainers first Plate winner. Cap In Hand has the defending trainer, who will be facing his sons (Lions Bay and Niigon Express) as well as having the defending sire (Midnight Lute).
Distance wise, Lexie than Artie. Tower of Texas' sire won the Derby (and his 3/4 sister was 3rd in the Woodbine Oaks). Niigon Express, Heart to Heart, Coltimus Prime all have sires who have either won the Plate or have sire a Plate/Oaks winner.
So who wins? Not sure about the post, but Tower of Texas has the right jockey and trainer to pull the upset. We Miss Artie for second and Lexie Lou for third.
Good luck to all and safe travels!
