Note: Thanks to Jessica Chapel (aka Railbird) and Dana Byerly (of Hello Race Fans) for finding the original website. Thanks guys!
What the heck does this have to do with horse racing? Absolutely nothing. There are people who find Pagents degrading as is, and having it at a racetrack isn't really helping. Now of course Del Mar does have the Miss Cougar contest (which is held the weekend they race the Cougar II), but that is even controversial. The application for Ms. Racing is... Oh boy! It's just sad that a track had to go to this level in order to promote itself. Before you go, what about Miss Preakness? I believe they changed it up to support those who are Breast Cancer survivors and the winners before the change worked in some capacity on the backside.
It may surprise people, but I watch beauty pageants. Now of course, I'm not the demographic that they are pleasing too. So where exactly I going with this, and what does this have to do with racing. Well... Frank Stronach is at it again. Well not him personally, but his pr department. On March 3rd at both Santa Anita and Gulfstream there will be a competition called Ms. Racing Queen. What does it involve? Well evening wear, swimsuit, Derby wear and interview. That sounds like a Beauty Pagent right? That's because it is.
Like most people on Twitter after Dana tweeted this, I was speechless. Why would you even do this? And this is the funny part, here is the goal for Ms. Racing Queen:
The Ms. Racing Queen Pageants’ mission is to find and promote exceptional women with a strong interest in ethical education, humanitarian issues and the Thoroughbred Racing Culture.

I'm sure there will be plenty of people who don't agree with this post, but this is something I needed to get off my chest. With that being said, good luck to all those who plan to enter.
