Profile:/ It's not everyday where you can say that you have finished you're first year of racing undefeated. Shanghai Bobby can as he beat all comers and ended his 2yo season on a high by defeating the best US 2yo's in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile. Before his juvenile win, Bobby won the Hopeful and Champagne Stakes. Both of those races have a good history of horses having solid 3yo seasons. The latest horses to come out of those races include: I'll Have Another, Trinniberg and Union Rags respectively. Here he is winning this year's Juvenile.

Sire

Harlan's Holiday (Harlan) was the beaten favorite in the 2002 Kentucky Derby. Leading up to the race he had won the Florida Derby and the Bluegrass Stakes. After finishing 4th in the Preakness, he won the PA Derby and finished 3rd in the Jockey Club Gold Cup. As a four year old, he won the Donn and finished second in the Dubai World Cup. Among his top foals include Into Mischief (whose 1/2 sister Beholder won the Juvenile Fillies this year), Riley Tucker and J.Z. Warrior.

Unlike his son, Harlan (Storm Cat) took awhile to get going. However he would end up winning the Vosburgh and finished 4th in the 1994 BC Sprint. In his career finale, he would finish second to last in the NYRA Mile (which was won by Cigar). Sadly Harlan passed away in 1999 at the age of 10. Still, other then Harlan's Holiday he is the sire of Menifee and Curious Conumdrum. Both of them stakes winners. His dam Country Romance (Halo) is a multiple stakes winner, Harlan was her best foal.

Harlan's Holiday's dam Christmas in Aiken (Affirmed) won two races in her career. HH is her best foal, however another one of her foals Bedford Falls (Forestry) sold for $1.1 million at Keeneland in 2004. Her dam Dowager (Honest Pleasure) is the 2nd dam of stakes winner Good Lord (Greatness).

Dam

Steelin' (Orientate) won the 2008 Bangles and Beads at Fairplex in her lone stakes win. Bobby is her first foal to run to date. She was not bred after having a full sister to Bobby this year for the 2013 season.

Orientate (Mt. Livermore) won the 2002 Breeders' Cup Sprint along with the 2001 Indiana Derby. As a sire, his best foal is Lady Joanne (the 1/2 sister to multiple G1 winner Shackleford (Forestry)), he also has Intangaroo. His dam Dream Team ;'(Cox's Ridge) won the Oak Leaf and finished third in the 1987 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.

.Her dam Steel Band (Carson City) was winless in six starts. Steelin' is her best foal. Her dam Wedding Band (Mighty Appealing) is a stakes winner. This is th esame female family as stakes winner Spinning Top (Bull Lea).
