Jim Dandy Recap: Wicked Win

Many people thought that Wicked Strong was a little bit of a disappointment in the Triple Crown. To me though, a disappointment is a horse who finishes worse than 5th. Sure WS didn't hit the top three in the Derby and Belmont, but two solid 4th place finishes.

With the addition of blinkers, he entered this year's Jim Dandy as the second choice after Tonalist. The new equipment chance was for the better as he was in the race earlier and was able to defeat the Belmont winner and Kid Cruz. Commanding Curve continued to current trend of Derby runner up's not preforming well afterwards with his 4th place finish.

This was Wicked Strong's first win since his Wood Memorial win in April, and he has a chance to be flattered even more today with Social Inclusion in today's Haskell. Also the son of Hard Spun became his sire's first millionaire!

Replay:

Up next for Wicked Strong is the Travers where he will likely be facing Tonalist and Kid Cruz again along with likely several from today's Haskell.
