April Preview

As we start to get down to the end of all of the prep races for the Kentucky Derby, I thought that some announcements about some upcoming posts would be a good idea. I have almost the entire month planned out of what I am going to be writing, so there are a few things that I can announce firmly and not make any changes to. There might be a few things that might be added, but more then likely what I say today will not be deleted at all. So for now, here is what I will be planning for April and Derby week.

  • Keeneland 2yo Sale and Recap- I'm doing things a little bit different this year which you will hear in the post which will be up sometime this week. There will be charts involved.

  • A sire and dam chart for the Derby contenders. I'll be starting those prob in the next week or so. However, I haven't made an offical decision on weather I'm doing the Oaks contenders or not.

  • There will be a stakes history post on two Older Horse races. I'm not a hundred percent sure weather they will be the Oaklawn Handicap and Apple Blossom however.

  • There will be four Pedigree Look posts during April. They will be on four different Derby and Oaks winners. I can tell you that two of them will be Animal Kingdom and Rachel Alexandra. The other two will be determined most likely this weekend.

  • 2 Stakes History posts, races to be determined

  • And a pear tree! Just kidding about that. I might start to do pedigree previews for juvenile races. I also really need to continue to work on the Freshman Stallion Features that I started earlier this year. I've really fallen behind on those.

I think that's it, everything for April. I'm sure there will be other things that come up in the next couple of weeks, but this is just a good starting point. I promise that everything will be up in a bit of a timely matter this month. For now though, I'll be back later this week with the Keeneland preview. However, before I go, here is my favorite Dubai win from Saturday by St. Nicholas Abbey and Joseph O'Brien for his dad and Coolmore.
