Rachel's note: Today's title post is a play on not only the horse in question, Mucho Macho Man, but of the Village People Song "Macho Man".
I've been a fan of Macho Uno's son Mucho Macho Man since his runner up finish behind To Honor and Serve in the 2010 Remsen. Last year, he had a decent Derby prep trail before finishing third in the Run to the Roses. After the Belmont, he was off for a well deserved rest. The break payed off as in November he returned to win an Allowance/Optional Claimer at Aqueduct. In his next race, he defeated future Santa Anita Handicap winner Ron the Greek in the Sunshine Millions Classic for FL Breds. Then yesterday, he defeated Tackleberry and Jackson Bend in the Gulfstream Park Handicap.

So what's next for this Kathy Ritvo trainee, a possible showdown with BC Dirt Mile winner Caleb's Posse and the formentioned To Honor and Serve in the Met Mile on Memorial Day. However, I would not be suprised if he skips that and goes to the Stephen Foster a few weeks later on a track that he had success on last year. Either way, if he holds his form, he will be one of the favorites for the Breeders' Cup Classic.
