ESPN and Charismatic

A few weeks before the lone big days of horse racing that ABC and ESPN now show, a film about Charismatic will be released. Orginally part of the 30 for 30 series (30 films in honor of the sports stations 30th aniversary), it was moved off the sch. with several other films. Those films are now being shown, with Charismatic's being tomorrow night. However, it looks like that the wonderful son of Summer Squall and the sire of one of my favorite horses Sun King will be playing second fiddle to his highly talented, but star-crossed jockey Chris Antley.

Chris passed away a year after he saved Charismatic's life in the Belmont, and from the earlier looks it will be focusing on his demons. Looks like ESPN was able to convince Al Michaels to be part of the film (he was the main anchor on ABC's coverage) as well as Gary Stevens (who rode General Challenge that day) and Jay Hovdey of DRF.

I will be watching this film and will be giving my review on Weds.
