Well it's an end of an era at Overbrook Farm. They have decided to disperise their remaining horses, breeding wise and yearlings. The big prize will be 1996 Derby winner Grindstone, of course he is the grandfather to this year's Derby and Belmont winners, Mine That Bird and Summer Bird (both by Birdstone). Overbrook is most known however for the Storm Bird penisioned stallion Storm Cat. So the question is will the actual farm still be owned by Overbrook? Or will Storm Cat be moved to a place say Old Friends. Stay tuned, for more details.
Meanwhile Dunkirk came out of the Belmont with a fracture. Surgery was proformed at the new Ruffian Equine Center which is right across from Belmont. Ironicly, Dunkirk is not the most famous Belmont runner-up that Dr. Patrica Hogan has done surgery on. That belongs to Smarty Jones, when he was a 2yo.
Also I found out that the Roman Ruler colt that I'm following, is trained by Todd Pletcher. Hopefully Rule does well with him.
