Well super mare Zenyatta was supposed to make her season debut today, but will wait for later in the month due to a muddy track.
Anyway it's that time, for me to make my Derby pick!
I've thought this through the past few months and this is what I've come up with. I'm tossing all of the 50-1 shots except for Summer Bird as he closed pretty nicely in the AR Derby. He's not my pick to win, but look for him in the Belmont. I know Hold Me Back is 15-1, but I'm tossing him as well, just for the fact that he won the Lane's End on synth and was dismal in his lone dirt apprence. Chocolate Candy, however I'm not tossing. The reason being is that his pedigree says that he should be able to handle the mile and quarter distance. I just think Joe Talemo is going to be so nervous on I Want Revenge that he may make a mistake, so I'm tossing him. I do think, Pioneerof the Nile will do okay, but not as well as people think he will. Friesan Fire has the perfect post for him as all of the horses inside of him will drop back, add in the mud. Papa Clem hadn't been training great until his blowout yesterday, I had him on my list anyway. The Cinderella, General Quarters might like the mud IMO. Apprently Dunkirk freaked out yesterday in the paddock. So here it is.
I have Friesan Fire winning the 135th Kentucky Derby, Chocolate Candy second and either Papa Clem or General Quarters finishing third. Summer Bird fourth, I Want Revenge fifth and Dunkirk sixth. Everyone else will fight it out for the remaining positions. Now want this not happen which always happens to me. Anyway good luck to everyone and lets hope for a safe and sound racing day tomarrow.
