Pedigree Spotlight

I had hoped to share with you guys my Stallion Spotlight for this week. Unfortanlly some things came up during the week and wasn't able to finish up my write up on Smart Strike. So Tuesday, which is normally my day off writing on this blog, I will proabley have the write up finished. Instead, I'm going to do a Pedigree spotlight. These will be any time, that I don't do a Stallion spotlight. This week I'm doing the broodmare Vertigineux and her foals.

Vertigineux is by Kris S. out of the Forli mare For the Flag. She only won 2 races out of 7 and had $60,480 in earnings. She is more known as a broodmare. Here are her named foals:

Where's Bailey (2002) mare by Aljabar
Balance (2003) mare by Thunder Gulch
Zenyatta (2004) mare by Street Cry
Treasure Trail (2006) filly by Pulpit
Souper Spectacler (2007) colt by Giant's Causeway

Where's Bailey, Balance and Zenyatta are stakes winners, with Balance and Zenyatta being G1 winners. Of course Zenyatta (Who ironicly is #1 on TC's Top Five for older females) is the defending BC Ladies Classic winner and undeafted. It's really too early to tell on how Treasure Trail will do, as she has yet to break her maiden. But time is on her side. Souper Spectacler should make his first start sometime this year. If not next year as a three year old. But these siblings are right up there with the Better Than Honour sibs (Jazil, Rags to Riches and Casino Drive) and the Goulosh sibs (Ashado and Sunriver). Only time will tell.
