Very Early Classic Contenders Look and More News

On the Road to the Breeders' Cup Blog, I posted a list of very early contenders for this year's Classic which can be found here. The Classic and Distaff rankings list will be coming out after the Stephen Foster on that blog.

Even though I will not be doing BC rankings on this blog for 2014, there will still be many great things upcoming.

* The project that I was going to announce after the Triple Crown, will not be going forward... at this moment. That doesn't mean I'm not going to be working on it. However, I'm going to just put it off until early 2015. Time and effort is just not going to be there since I had decided to relaunch the BC blog instead.

* The much anticipated Pedigree Look on California Chrome is upcoming this weekend. The Untapable PL post will likely be late June (or early July).

* I will finally be doing the first Freshman Stallion Feature of 2014 this weekend as well. Won't say who it is, as I'm not 100% it will be yet.

* Thinking of doing a Pedigree Roundtable (along with the other roundtable I announced) with a few other people (I have people in mind, but again not sure they would be interested) where questions from the blog, Facebook and Twitter would be answered by the guests about pedigrees. If you are interested please contact me via Twitter (I'm Furlongdrive there).

* More videos of race previews! These will start possibly this weekend as well. Just have to find the right race!

Sorry for two announcement type posts in a row, but I have had a lot to say over these past few days. Will be back with the PL post as early as Thursday!

Roundtable and Breeders' Cup Blog Announcement

I'm still looking for people who are interested in doing a Roundtable for the Belmont Stakes. It will likely be Thursday June 5th around 3pm Eastern. However this is subject to change. If you are interested please contact me on Twitter where my screen name is Furlongdrive.

The other big announcement is that I have decided to start a Breeders' Cup blog which will talk about the lead up to this year's edition which will be held on October 31st and November 1st at Santa Anita. One portion of the blog will be written previews and recaps of the WAYI races and previews and recaps of the 13 races that will be held that weekend. The other portion will be video previews of the WAYI races. I will not be doing a video of every race for a few reasons:

A. Time (something that I really won't have a lot of, but enough to do these videos)
B. Unknowingness of the horses that will be running

The Big Announcement

If you saw my post last week, then you know there is an announcement coming. Well, today is the big day! I somewhat teased this on Twitter this afternoon after I finished up the final touches on the preview for it just minutes before hand. Some people had some guesses, but I've been letting you wait too long. So here it is!

Starting January 11, 2013 and happening every Friday until at least the week before the Derby I will have a vlog show on YouTube. During the show, I will be previewing two races. One race on Saturday and one race on Sunday. These races will range from a maiden claimer to a Grade 1 stakes. I will also be profiling a stallion and/or dam at least once a month based on their foals performance during the month. These aren't going to be professionally done, as I'm going to be doing them (for now) on my iPad and/or iPhone. However, I will try to be as informative as possible.
