Everyone remembers the rules I think. I would like to appologize for not having the Chats like I planned at the beg. of the month. Got a little bit busy with other things. Here we are though! See you at 8!

Live Chats are Back
That's right everyone! The Live Chats are coming back. After a hiatus in the spring due to family comittments, they are offically coming back. When? July 8th which is in two weeks from tonight. The Chat will begin at 8pm and run till about 9:30ish. We will be covering all parts of racing from breeding to racing and much more!
The chats will then be held every other Thursday starting at 8 and ending around the same time. This will go until the end of August when Breeders' Cup chats will be every Weds. at 7:30 until the BC. Don't worry all this information will be posted at the begining of the chat on the 8th.

Also this weekend, the winner of this year's Kentucky Oaks, the beaten favorite and 3rd place finisher are in action, as well as the FG Oaks winner. Zazu and Plum Pretty face each other in the Hollywood Oaks, Joyful Victory headlines the Mother Goose while Daisy Devine is in Iowa to try her hand at the Iowa Oaks. It's also the first leg of the CAN Triple Crown with the Queen's Plate. Check Your Soul is the favorite, but I'm going with Inglorious, as she can help even out the chance of the FG Oaks becoming a G1 if she wins (since Daisy didn't do well in the KY Oaks :().
It's also the first Graded Stakes of the year for 2yo's at Churchill (who is running tonight, dispite having a tornado on Weds). Should be a good weekend of racing!

Welcome to the First Live Chat of the Year! I hope everyone enjoys themselves, while I'm sure everyone knows the rules of the chat, they will be explained at the begging of so that everyone has them clear.

2011 Derby Live Chats are set
I'm pleased to announce that the 2011 Thorough Chat Live Chats have been set. This year's Chats will begin on Tuesday January 25th at 8:00 pm. Like last year each chat will be weekly for about 45 minutes to an hour (depending on the preps that where run over the previous weekend). Once again Cover It Live will be website used to have these chats. Also like last year, these chats will be taking place once a week.
There is two days where a live chat will not be taking place. The first will be March 22, this is the day before what would have been my dad's 50th birthday. The second will be April 5 as once again due to a birthday (this time my mom's). The replacemate dates for those two chats will be detirmined at a later date.

Interactif, Lentenor and Workin for Hops Oh My!
There aren't that many turf stakes that are for straight 3yo males left on the East Coast this year. The Kent is one of those that is left. Saturday, 2 of the better turf horses and the full brother to one of the most beloved to ever race at Delaware Park run in the Kent.

A few notes, very interesting choice of jockey on Lentenor, fantastic post for Interactif, and bad ones for Grand Report (although he does have the right jockey) and Workin for Hops. I gotta go with Interactif, I've loved this horse since he was a 2yo, Workin does have a bit of a class edge coming out of the Sec. Lenny's last race was okay, and the FL Derby form though has been falling apart. Those are my top three in the order I posted. As for possible dark horses obviously Grand Rapport, but keep an eye on Stormy Lord. He's already won at this distance up at Woodbine and finished second in the Breeders' Stakes (compared to Interactif's 6th place finish in the Belmont, but that's not a fair comparsion since the Breeders' is on grass where as the Belmont is on dirt).
There might be some rain in the forcast, but hopefully it will hold off till Saturday night. A few final thoughts for tonight, next week will start the BC Live Chats. I'm going to be keeping them on topic as much as possible and next week will be full of getting ready for Super Saturday. The chat will be starting at the regular time of 7pm. As we get closer to the BC, I will announce when the Preview and Recap Chats will be. So stay tuned for that.

Kaboom!
Well... one of my picks finished third and another finished fourth and Kiss the Kid was second in his race. So overall, not a great weekend handicapping. Ah well, it happens sometimes.
A short post for tonight, but a few announcements:
1. HRBA nominations wrap up on Memorial Day, I just put a new post up tonight when it comes to graphics. Also there is a new catagory, New Blog.
2. Met Mile Vault Opens tomorrow with Ghostzapper and Langfuhr, other horses I'll profile are Gulch, Holy Bull, Forego, Conquesestor Cielo and Honor and Glory.
3. There will be a live chat on Thursday starting at 7:30, we will be breaking this year's Met Mile which will feature early HOY favorite Quality Road. The weekend preview will actually be a weekday preview since the Met Mile will be on Monday, May 31st. Because of this, the preview will not be until next Sunday and the recap will be Tuesday. Which means there really won't be that much Belmont talk, but the race is coming up on the weak side (no offence to Ice Box, Uptowncharlybrown or First Dude, but I'll take Super Saver and Lookin at Lucky over them any day). Also the Live Chat, I will be announcing the Summer Series scheduale. What to expect? Right now I can't say yet, but I can tell you that in all likelyhood they will be either Thursdays or Saturdays (I haven't decided yet).
