These are the results from last night's Fasig Tipton July Yearling Auction. Here are my picks that I had posted last Weds. I've color coded all of the bolded text. If the text is green that means the horse met his or her reserve and was sold. If the text is red, then that means the reserve was not met. I will also post the price where bidding had stopped at. If both the bolded text and the none bolded text is blue then that means that the horse was taken out of the sale to be either kept, sold at a future sale or was privately sold. There might be RNA's might have been privately sold, if that's happened then the text is Orange.

So I did okay in choosing horses. Sure many of the prices wheren't fantastic, but I did better then I expected. Got a few six figure prices which is good. I've already started working on Saratoga which is stocked full of so many horses that could bring good prices, that I may have to thin down my long list.

Fasig Tipton July Preview

It's that time of year again, the yearling sales are about to get underway. First up is Fasig Tipton's July Sale which will be held July 10^th, 2012 in Lexington, KY. The following are horses who on pedigree alone are my picks for this auction.

Hip 7 chestnut filly Old Fashioned x Rare Bird (Rahy): Sire was a G2 winner and a finalist for 2yo Champion. Her dam is a 1/2 sister to stakes winner Exclusive Bird (Storm Bird) (who is the dam to G3 placed Private Ryan (Quiet American). The filly is a 1/2 sister to G3 winner Host (Tabasco Cat).

Hip 9 bay colt Afleet Alex x Rhythm Gal (Vindication): Sire was a G1 winner and Champion at 3. Dam is a 1/2 sister to G1 winner Sarava (Wild Again).

Hip 12 grey/roan colt Dunkirk x Royal Confection (Candi's Gold): Sire was G1 placed at 3. His dam is stakes placed. The colt is a 1/2 brother to G3 placed Karma (Macho Uno).

Hip 17 bay filly Roman Ruler x Santa Fe Strip (Phone Trick): Sire was a G1 winner and has a Classic winning son (Ruler On Ice- 2011 Belmont). Dam is a stakes winner and is the 1/2 sister to stakes placed Slammin' Sam (Grand Slam).

Hip 30 grey/roan colt Two Punch x She's a Lively One (Lively One): The colt has the same sire as Champion Smoke Glacken. His dam is G2 placed and he is a 1/2 brother to stakes winner Shesgoldincolor (Touch Gold).

Hip 44 chestnut filly Include x Spring (Stravinsky): Her sire was a G1 winner and has several great fillies including G1 winner Panty Raid and her full sister KY Oaks runner up St. John's River, and G1 winner Include Me Out. The filly is a full sister to G1 placed Pulsion (Include). 

Hip 54 bay colt Dixie Union x Strikes No Spares (Smart Strike): Same sire as multiple G1 winner Union Rags. Dam is a stakes winner.

Hip 60 bay colt Colonel John x Sweeping (End Sweep): His sire was a multiple G1 winner, dam is a stakes winner. The colt is 1/2 brother to stakes winner Fabulous Babe (Touch Gold), and stakes placed Angel Island (Forestry).
